Minister of Social Welfare, Madam Baindu Dassama-Kamara officially launches the symbolic handing over of PERSIF Project sites for the construction of WASH and Health facilities in Western Area Rural District. This development followed a succession of symbolic handing over of project sites for the construction of the same facilities in Kailahun, Kenema, Bombali, and Port Loko districts.
As part of its mandate, the Ministry empowers and transforms the lives of vulnerable and underprivileged persons or families including young people, women, children, the elderly and persons with disabilities. Through coordinated development and implementation of laws, policies and programmes that promote their welfare and safeguard their rights including religious tolerance.
